Review:
Some years ago I scattered seeds along my property at the beach. They bloomed under the light of the moon. In darkness there is light. We need to know where to look. The poems in this collection speak of resources: spirituality, family, friends, lovers, creativity. They ask for hope to the lost and forgotten. They exist as gifts to readers, for you, these moonflowers bloom. Barbara Truncellito resides on Long Beach Island and in Manhattan,
"I'm
moved by the clarity and music of Barbara Truncellito's voice in these new
poems, how compassionately she faces the sorrows of the dispossessed, how calmly
she meditates on histories of family losses and loves. Engaged with the natural
world which she observes with confidence in its power to inspire and console,
she also gives us a vision at once sensuous and delicate, earthy and spiritual
that reverberates in memory."
