Love is a battlefield
Big Al and the Red Canvas Feet return to the Land of Many Trees after a dog-gone adventure in the American Southwest! Big Al wastes no time tucking back in to the comforts of the big yard and cozy dog house, all the while regaling his friends with tales of desert derring-do.

About the same time, another youngster begins a journey down the jet stream that puts him on a collision course with the Land of Many Trees. The nameless crow, a bit beat up from his flight from the Pacific Northwest, announces his arrival in Big Al's yard by relieving himself (accidentally) on Big Al's backside. Not an auspicious beginning for a relationship, but these two youngsters will soon have more to worry about than a bit of poop on a pup.
For storm clouds are gathering. The great North Woods soon resembles a battleground, with destruction everywhere, and there are casualties, including Big Al! His owner, the big man with the red canvas feet, is also hurt, but not at death's door like Big Al. Like so many who have faced the toughest decision a pet owner ever makes, Red Canvas Feet is brokenhearted. The big storm may well be Big Al's last battle, but this pint-sized pooch won't go down without a fight.
