Review:
An anthology of accurate and controversial, yet inspiring and heartwarming experiences dealing with the rescue and adoption of greyhounds.
Each year tens of thousands of innocent greyhounds are killed...simply because they cannot run as fast as some people feel they should.
Most are unaware of the inhumane treatment these gentle animals receive as racing "Machines." Greyhound Tales is the first book that will arm the reader with truth and knowledge surrounding this industry.
Anyone who cares about animals on any level should read this book and become informed on some of the atrocities inherent in greyhound racing, as well as the glorious nature of this hound as a companion.
"There is a very special class of privileged citizens in this country, those who have gotten to know a greyhound. It is an experience like no other and this book is living testimony to that fact. Unlike other privileged societies, the one built around the greyhound is very easy to join. You don't have to be born into it ...you just have to be willing to give love and accept love."
-- Roger A. Caras, President, ASPCA

Critical Acclaim for:
"The dog racing industry would have us believe that greyhounds are little more than running machines. This inspirational, heartwarming book tells the true story: Greyhounds are loving and sensitive companion animals."
-- Richard Avanzino, President, San Francisco SPCA
"The people who tell their stories in this book show sympathy and compassion for these marvelous animals who are themselves so filled with sympathy and compassion for us, even though humans have proved to be such untrue friends. Somehow these dogs still love and trust us after all our degradation and betrayal. This in itself is a small miracle."
-- Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, Author of When Elephants Weep: The Emotional Eves of Animals
