REVIEW:
This not an autobiography. Life is rigidly sequential, and there is no reverse gear, no variable speed, and no braking until the end. Memories are different; they are random and may move in any direction, at any speed, at any time. This is a book of memories, frequently focused on my life with Esther but also before and after Esther. My life is like a perpetually turning wheel. My memories are the spokes. Esther is the hub.
I offer no apologies if Memoirs of a Mexican Marriage seems more about me than about Esther. I knew Esther for forty-eight years. I have known me for eighty.
This book is dedicated to all who loved Esther, especially Arlene, who insisted that I write it, her doting sister Linda, and her devoted brother Robert
