Review:
What happens when the Zeus Shoe Company takes a staid accountant who has recently lost his wife, his former girlfriend, a beautiful model, a writer, a womanizing real estate agent and a triathlete, and throws them together on an arduous trek from Los Angeles to Denver?
The answer to this momentous question is provided in Alan Cook's trekking novel, Walking to Denver. Add a few other characters, including a washed-up race-car mechanic, a black photographer, a mysterious man in a 1956 Thunderbird and a shoe marketeer who looks like Phoebe Cates, and you are in for a rip-roaring adventure.
Follow these characters across deserts and over mountains as they strive toward their goals.

"...easy-to-follow, humorous plot...the book makes you want to set out on a long, cross-country trek of your own."
